Sydney: Progress on the Metro conversion of the T3 Bankstown Line
29 August 2024 (Sydney)
Starting Monday, 30 September 2024, the T3 Bankstown Line between Sydenham and Bankstown will be closed
to allow for the final conversion of the 130-year-old line to modern metro standards.
Once the conversion is finished, passengers will benefit from a state-of-the-art metro line featuring trains
every 4 minutes during peak times, along with fully accessible stations and services.
Replacement bus services, called Southwest Link, will be free for all passengers throughout the entire conversion period, continuing until the anticipated completion date in late 2025.
