Sydney Metro will now begin the ‘Trial Running’ phase

The new tunnels, trains, and stations have all undergone extensive testing and commissioning over the course of more than a year. Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) will now start the "Trial Running" phase, which is an essential stage in obtaining certification prior to the start of passenger services.
Final testing is underway in anticipation of city-shaping metro services that will begin in August and run from Chatswood, below the Sydney CBD, to Sydenham.
Throughout the Trial Running phase, MTS will conduct a variety of field-based scenarios across the line and stations in order to get ready for operations. These scenarios are
intended to replicate actual timetable services and operational circumstances.
