LNER introduces the first train with the name Azuma in honour of its 100th anniversary

On the East Coast route, which connects London with Yorkshire, the North East of England, and Scotland, London North Eastern Railway (LNER) is pleased to introduce the first named and liveried train as a member of the Azuma fleet.

The LNER brand first appeared in 1923, and the song "Century" honours the company's pioneering spirit and employees over the previous 100 years.

May 15, 2023, at York Railway Station, there was a celebration and the unveiling of the special livery.

LNER is commemorating 100 years of devoted service on the East Coast Main Line, which connects the capital cities of England and Scotland as well as a wide range of places that continue to be extremely popular with tourists looking to take advantage of the world-class sights and attractions available along the East Coast.

LNER has given its trains names that have become instantly recognisable around the world, such as "Flying Scotsman," "Mallard," and "Sir Nigel Gresley."
