Hitachi Rail to implement communication, supervision, and cybersecurity systems for the UAE's first passenger rail services

The project will equip Etihad Rail's upcoming passenger stations with integrated communication and supervision systems, leveraging the existing freight infrastructure.
This project represents the UAE's first passenger rail service, connecting 11 cities and regions across the country, and serving as a key component of the planned Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) railway network.
When the passenger train becomes operational, Etihad Rail is projected to carry up to 36.5 million passengers annually by 2030.
