Colas Rail, in partnership with Orascom Construction and Hitachi Rail, has secured a contract to renovate Cairo Metro's Line 1

The consortium, led by Colas Rail and including Orascom Construction and Hitachi Rail
A contract with the Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) to renovate Line 1 of the Cairo Metro, valued at over 800 million euros.
This line, the oldest in Egypt, serves as the backbone of Cairo's urban transport system, currently transporting over 1.5 million people daily.
To address the growing demand for mobility in Cairo, the authorities have decided to enhance the city's transport capacity.
