Alstom has delivered the first driverless trainset for Chennai Metro Phase II

Alstom has successfully delivered the first Metropolis metro train for Chennai Metro Phase II from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh.
These fully made-in-India trains are designed for a maximum safe speed of 90 km/h and an operational speed of 80 km/h.
The mock-up car, once manufacturing was completed, was unveiled during an event held at Alstom’s Sri City site on 22 September 2024, in the presence of dignitaries from the Tamil Nadu government, CMRL, and Alstom.
