Alstom, in collaboration with Flox, has secured SEK 3.3 million in funding from Vinnova to carry out field tests of an innovative AI system designed to prevent collisions between trains and wildlife.
Each year, Trafikverket reports approximately 5,000 animal collisions in Sweden. By reducing accidents and minimizing damage to train vehicles while safeguarding wildlife, this project has the potential to transform railway safety.
Flox, a pioneer in AI and image analysis, has created a system designed to detect and deter wild animals from accessing railway tracks.
